PayPal vs Paysera: What are the differences?

Introduction

This markdown code provides a comparison between PayPal and Paysera, highlighting their key differences.

  1. Transaction Fees: One major difference between PayPal and Paysera is the transaction fees. PayPal charges a fee for receiving payments from buyers, which varies based on factors such as country and transaction amount. On the other hand, Paysera has a transparent fee structure, with fixed fees for certain payment methods and no fees for receiving payments from Paysera users.

  2. Accepted Currencies: PayPal and Paysera differ in terms of the currencies they support. PayPal is widely accepted and supports over 200 currencies, allowing users to send and receive payments across different countries. Paysera, on the other hand, primarily focuses on European markets and supports a limited number of currencies, mainly Euro-based.

  3. Integration Options: Another difference between PayPal and Paysera is the integration options available for businesses. PayPal provides various integration options, including APIs and customizable payment buttons, making it easy for businesses to integrate PayPal into their websites or applications. Paysera also offers integration options such as payment links and APIs, but the available options may be more limited compared to PayPal.

  4. Withdrawal Methods: PayPal and Paysera also vary in terms of withdrawal methods. PayPal offers multiple withdrawal options, including bank transfers, debit/credit card transfers, and even check withdrawals in some countries. Paysera primarily focuses on bank transfers as the main withdrawal method, potentially limiting the options available for users who prefer other withdrawal methods.

  5. Security Measures: When it comes to security, both PayPal and Paysera prioritize the protection of user data and transactions. PayPal offers features like buyer and seller protection, encryption, and two-factor authentication to enhance security. Paysera also implements security measures such as transaction verification, data encryption, and compliance with strict regulation standards to ensure secure transactions.

  6. Availability and Market Reach: PayPal and Paysera differ in terms of their availability and market reach. PayPal is available in over 200 countries and supports transactions in multiple currencies, making it a popular choice for global payments. Paysera primarily targets European markets and may have limited availability in other regions, which could be a factor to consider for businesses with a global customer base.

In Summary, PayPal and Paysera differ in terms of transaction fees, accepted currencies, integration options, withdrawal methods, security measures, and market reach.

We use GoCardless to simplify the way clients and partners pay for our services. What intrigued us is the quick and easy ACH feature that gives our clients the option to log in with their bank account and shoot the funds directly to our account. The fee, compared to Stripe is less. Stripe and PayPal charge 2.9% + 30c and Stripe also forces the client to enter in all of their payment details manually and then if the payment doesn't work, the client has to try all over again. GoCardless charges 1% + 25c which is much more reasonable dealing with the large projects that we are currently working on.

We integrate GoCardless with Xero to easily send out quick invoices, receive the funds and track all revenue in one place.
