Katran: A high performance layer 4 load balancer. katran is a cpp library and bpf program to build high performance layer 4 load balancing forwarding plane. katran leverages XDP infrastructure from the kernel to provide in-kernel facility for fast packet's processing; Pound: A reverse proxy, load balancer and HTTPS front-end for Web server(s). Pound was developed to enable distributing the load among several Web-servers and to allow for a convenient SSL wrapper for those Web servers that do not offer it natively.
