LDAP vs ServerAuth: What are the differences?
Developers describe LDAP as "A lightweight directory access protocol". It is a mature, flexible, and well supported standards-based mechanism for interacting with directory servers. It’s often used for authentication and storing information about users, groups, and applications, but an LDAP directory server is a fairly general-purpose data store and can be used in a wide variety of applications. On the other hand, ServerAuth is detailed as "Secure SSH Access Management for Teams". It allows you to secure your server's SSH access, by restricting who can login, and when. Our in-built scheduling system allows you to restrict when each of your team members can log into your servers, making it great for remote teams and contractors.
LDAP and ServerAuth belong to "User Management and Authentication" category of the tech stack.
