Can I use Tailwind CSS for a big e-commerce site? Is it considered correct in terms of performance? Please advise the best UI for building e-commerce sites.

I certainly recommend Tailwind with Nuxt in any big project, even an e-commerce, since you enable and configure PurgeCSS for your production build. This way, you'll have all the needed styles and nothing more, getting a bundle potentially smaller than what you'd get with other CSS frameworks that not adopt a utility-first approach.

Yes you can. Performance wise, others have answered already.

It's just a personal preferences if you want to read TailwindCSS classes on your HTML or not.
